The BMW Art Cars have arrived in New York City and are on display in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall through April 6th, 2009.  Walking into Vanderbilt Hall and seeing these cars is simply amazing.  Most impressive is the burst of color, particularly the Roy Lichtenstein 320i and the Andy Warhol M1.

The exhibit is five cars in total.  Included in the exhibit are the 1977 Group 5 Racing 320i painted by Roy Lichtenstein, the 1976 3.0 CSL painted by Frank Stella, the 1979 Group 4 Racing M1 painted by Andy Warhol, the 1986 635csi painted by R. Raushenberg, and the Z4 Roadster which was driven through wet paint on canvas-like surface to create a 30 by 40 foot.  The Z4 painting was by artist Robin Rhode. (more…)

October 4th, 2008 saw BMW owners gather for BMFeast at the Swim and Sport Club in Flanders, New Jersey for a fun day of browsing BMW cars, photo snapping, picknicking and socializing; there was a bit of engine revving as well here and there. 😉

Over 400 BMW’s showed up for the car show on a beautiful sunny day. Organizers spread word through forums such as E90 Post, S14.net, Bimmerfest and Bimmerpost. Car owners from as far as Maryland and Connecticut washed, waxed and drove up E30’s, E92’s, M5’s, M6’s and more gorgeous models. (more…)

On Sunday June 22, BMW owners from the New York City metro area met at Bear Mountain for an afternoon of gawking, tech and gear talk about all types of Bimmers. The event was sponsored by Park Ave BMW of Maywood New Jersey. Refreshments and food were provided by the dealership. Everyone had a great time at this event. There was a strong showing of 335i’s , E92 M3 ‘s, E30 M3’s (some with s50 conversions) and E46 M3’s. Following are some pictures of the cars. On Saturday May 10^th Bimmerfest East meet brought a great group of BMW owners to Palisades Park in Fort Lee, NJ to enjoy good weather, camaraderie and each other’s cars. With more than 30 cars showing, the attendance was great. The majority of the cars were E39 BMW ’s and several E30 M3 owners showed up with their cars as well. (more…)
