The American Le Mans Series came to Lime Rock for the July 12, Northeast Grand Prix in Lakeville Connecticut. The race was action packed with drivers jockeying for position from start to finish on a revamped course. Spectator turnout to the Grand Prix was larger than ever filling both the infield and the outfield with colorful umbrellas and American Flags, still the cozy intimacy of Lime Rock’s paddock area was not lost. It was bound to be a special race; Dyson Racing was celebrating 25 years in motorsports by doing a lap in the Dyson Porsche 962 (Driven by Rob Dyson), flanked by the Porsche RS Spyder (Driven by Chris Dyson).

The Wednesday night car show at Bear Mountain, NY continues on as we break through to the first days of summer. Great weather brought out a record number of enthusiasts showing more than 300 cars on the main lawn next to the Inn. A wide variety of collector cars were on hand from the 1937 Cord Phaeton to the ’59 and ’62 Corvettes to the 60’s Sunbeam Tiger . We even saw a Jensen Interceptor , a pretty rare sighting. (more…)

On Sunday June 22, BMW owners from the New York City metro area met at Bear Mountain for an afternoon of gawking, tech and gear talk about all types of Bimmers. The event was sponsored by Park Ave BMW of Maywood New Jersey. Refreshments and food were provided by the dealership. Everyone had a great time at this event. There was a strong showing of 335i’s , E92 M3 ‘s, E30 M3’s (some with s50 conversions) and E46 M3’s. Following are some pictures of the cars. The 13th Annual Greenwich Concours d’Elegance took place on Saturday June 7th and Sunday June 8th, 2008 in Greenwich, Connecticut. Saturday brought American cars of all marques from turn of the century to modern day sports cars. Sunday brought the best and the brightest of the imports in the sports, touring and competition classes. Raising money for the charity Americares the Concours really is an important automobile event. Over 150 cars showed up to the Bear Mountain Show on May 28th making this show the biggest of the year so far. The show is now moved to the lawn with food and drink served. Recognition awards were handed out for various categories and 50/50 money is being raised for charity. (more…)

On Saturday May 10^th Bimmerfest East meet brought a great group of BMW owners to Palisades Park in Fort Lee, NJ to enjoy good weather, camaraderie and each other’s cars. With more than 30 cars showing, the attendance was great. The majority of the cars were E39 BMW ’s and several E30 M3 owners showed up with their cars as well. (more…)

The 9th Season of the Bear Mountain Car Show opened on Wednesday May 7th, 2008. The show is held every Wednesday starting at 6:00pm and is a collaborative effort of the Rod Bender’s Car Club and the Palisades Park Conservacy in New York.

Cars of all ages, makes and models show up for this event and are broken into two main groups; Vintage and Collectible cars before model year 1989, and all cars 1989 and newer. There is also a large area for motorcyles, bikes and choppers of all types. (more…)
